A weekly event (weather permitting) centered on rhythm and movement at The Jones House in downtown Boone. People of all ages and musical abilities can come together in a safe space for fun collective improvisation.
"BYOD" - Bring Your Own Drum - or other instruments you can dance and groove with. The circle starts promptly at 5:30. Potential "after party" at Jimmy Smith or Durham Park for those interested in continuing beyond 7:30.

These events are free and open to the public. Guests are invited to bring an acoustic instrument to participate in the jams or listen and observe the fiddle tunes and folk songs in a close-up and casual environment. Each week, various musicians from the local community, as well as visitors, gather throughout the Jones House. After catching up and choosing a key, the music begins until the "last call for tunes" comes around 9:45.

On Saturday, June 1st, 2024, the Ashe County Chamber of Commerce will again sponsor a completely free and family-friendly musical celebration for High Country residents and visitors to the region.
The event will be held at the Ashe County Government Complex, located above Bojangles in Jefferson. Food vendors, including Backstreet Subs, D’s Famous Hot Dogs, Village Inn Pizza, The Baker’s Addict, and Hole Lotta Doughnuts, will be serving treats on site. In addition, shuttles will provide transportation from parking lots at the former Lowes Foods shopping center on Mount Jefferson Road, the Ashe County Civic Center, and Ashe Memorial Hospital to make parking easy. Guests are invited to bring a chair, but no alcohol or pets will be allowed.
